RED CHILI... Northern New Mexico Style

Lets make red chili.... ok soooo you are thinking beef(hamburger) tomatoe sauce, onions etc.........NOT!!! LOL
Let's do it like the people do it here in northern New Mexico. My motherinlaw taught me... its great,.. then we will make YOUR kind with my style and call it chilibeans... LOL.. I hate that word.... mine goes great over fritos... we call it... FRITO PIE CHILI... yummmy... but thats another day.. and OHHH so good and OH so EASY!! thats what youre lookin for right??
Follow along.......
You will need.....
red powderd chili... comes in mild, med, hot... I like the mild... I know.. I know.. I'm a woose...
Water
meat... about a lb and a 1/2.. hamburger or cubed steak ORRRR pork.. pork is the best! but tonight its cubed steak
garlic powder
salt
Ok so cook your meat, cook it good.. add some water once it browns and cook it down.

Add about 1/2 cup red chili powder. If you have a baked potatoe in your frig left over from last night, gut 1/2 of it and smash it a little and add it . Stir all around before adding water. Once your chili os all over the cooked meat, add water to cover. Add garlic to taste. Add salt.. not too much.. your family or "diners" can add their own to their own taste.

Stir..........

Add water..............and cook on high... make sure you watch the water... add more if you need to.

WAH LAH!!! Great Chili!

Ok so. here ya go... GREAT CHILI!!! I serve with beans, tortillas, sometimes fried potatoes. Sometimes I add potatoes cubed to the boiling/cooking process. It thickens the chili. This is good stuff!!! Try it!!!! Good luck!
